How to Remove Shared Contacts Chrome Extension?

There are three (3) ways to remove Shared Contacts for Gmail® Chrome extension:

Method 1: Through the extension icon directly

1. Click the “Extension” icon at the upper right corner of the window.

2. Click on the vertical ellipses for Shared Contacts for Gmail®.

3. From the menu, select “Remove from Chrome”.

4. A pop-up will appear. Click “Remove”.

5. Now, you will no longer be able to use the Shared Contacts for Gmail® Chrome extension.

Method 2: Through the extension icon>Manage extensions

1. Click the “Extension” icon at the upper right corner of the window.

2. From the drop-down menu, click “Manage extensions”.

3. Find Shared Contacts in the extensions manager or through the search bar. Then, click “Remove”.

4. A confirmation message will appear. Click “Remove” in the confirmation popup message.

5. You will automatically see that the extension is deleted.

Method 3: Through the vertical ellipses at the window

1. Click the vertical ellipses at the upper right corner of the window.

2. Go to “More tools”. Then, click on “Extensions”.

3. All the Chrome extensions will show up. Find Shared Contacts for Gmail® among the list or through the search bar. Click “Remove”

4. Afterward, a pop-up box will appear. Confirm the removal of the extension by clicking “Remove”.

5. You will automatically see that the extension is deleted.

Notes about how to remove Shared Contacts Chrome Extension: 

  • If you’d like to use the extension again in the future, then feel free to find us once more in the Chrome Web Store!
  • Uninstalling the extension does not unsubscribe you from Shared Contacts for Gmail®. That means you can still enjoy the benefits of having shared contacts.
  • The changes made through the extension are still valid, even those made prior to the removal of the extension.
  • Without the Chrome extension, users can no longer share contacts when they access their Google Contacts on their browser. However, they can still share the contacts through the mobile app or plug-ins (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Workspace).
  • If Shared Contacts for Gmail® is installed by the domain administrator [through the Google Workspace admin console, then, it cannot be uninstalled by users as the “Remove” option is not available.
